Welcome to my practice

Since I can remember I always wanted to become a Counselling Psychologist. I love the fact that I get to go to work every day doing something that I love and that I’m so passionate about. For me, being a psychologist not only means providing a genuine and safe environment for clients to express themselves and deal with their difficulties, but it is also about being open, interested in and available to my clients. I have enjoyed over the years, developing my practice, broadening my skills, and diversifying in my service offerings.

I hope that this website provides an effective overview of our services, myself as a therapist, the associates, and our individualized therapeutic approach.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe that a quality based therapeutic relationship is central to the therapeutic process. The fundamental principles upon which this relationship is based is that of accurate empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard. Through this relationship, the client’s own potentials are seen as the power centre of effective therapy and therapy assists clients to activate those self-healing potentials. This is achieved by assisting clients to develop an understanding of themselves, through liberating their own resources and by managing their lives more effectively.

Through my training and experience I have been able to confirm that each client has different needs and that one’s therapeutic approach should be tailored to suit and fulfil those needs. Considering that there are many “brands” of psychotherapy and based on the aforementioned-taking my clients ‘uniqueness’ and personal needs into consideration- I begin the process by talking with the client to determine, in a collaborative way, the type of approach that best fits with them. Through this collaborative therapeutic process, I aim to help clients identify, develop and use resources that will make them more effective agents of change both within their sessions and within their everyday lives. The therapeutic process allows clients to challenge themselves in a safe environment, eventually leading and progressing toward self-actualization.

My training, exposure and experience allows me to offer clients a wide range of therapeutic services- working in an integrative and collaborative manner. An environment is created where clients feel heard, challenged, understood and affirmed.

I have been privileged to gain training, exposure, and experience in a number of both private and government based therapeutic contexts over the years. To name a few:
